Can the bridal party get ready at a villa?

Yes. Getting ready at your villa before leaving for the venue is a great use of the space. The villas are lodging only, so the ceremony, reception and any party stay at the venue.

Can you put the whole wedding party in villas next to each other?

Does The Island on Lake Travis host weddings?

Yes, The Island hosts weddings on the resort grounds, booked with the resort. Your wedding party and guests can stay in our private villas a short walk away.

How far is The Island from wedding venues?

About 15 minutes from The Laiken in Lago Vista and about 25 minutes from Villa Antonia in Jonestown, depending on traffic.

Getting married at The Island itself, or at a nearby venue like The Laiken? Either way, the wedding party has a different weekend from everyone else. They arrive earlier, they need space to get ready, and they want to be close to each other. The Island on Lake Travis handles all three.

Several villas beat one big house

Above about eight people, two or three neighboring villas work better than one large rental: more bathrooms (the thing that decides how the wedding morning goes), more mirrors and outlets, more kitchen space, and somewhere quiet for whoever needs a nap before the ceremony.

A common setup:

Bridal villa: the bride, bridesmaids, and the hair and makeup team. Pick one with the best natural light.
Groomsmen villa: close enough to coordinate, far enough for surprises.
Family villas: parents and grandparents, ideally on the ground floor.

The getting-ready morning

Ask about light and space when you book: a big table and a bright room make the photographer’s job easier.
Plan parking for the hair and makeup team and the photographer. The Island is gated, so give us their names ahead of time.
Order breakfast in or stock the kitchen the night before.
Leave on time. The Laiken is about 15 minutes away, but give yourself a cushion on wedding day.

The villas are private lodging. Getting ready, family breakfasts and pool afternoons are what they are for. Ceremonies, receptions, rehearsal dinners for a crowd and after parties belong at the venue (including The Island’s own wedding spaces, booked with the resort), not inside the villas, and The Island’s resort rules and quiet hours apply to every guest.
